I hope that you are finding a few minutes in your day to recharge your creative batteries. This painting really did it for me! Angels on High – Fluid Acrylic Cotton String New Dip & Drag Technique is a quick and easy painting with lovely results. It has fired up my creative heart and I have so many ideas for new art in the coming weeks. 🙂
This painting uses:
Sargent Art Gloss Medium and Varnish and acrylic paint- That’s it! I didn’t even add any water to the paints this time. 🙂 I like having a thicker paint for the string art. It seems to show up better on the wet canvas. 🙂 (You can use your favorite Medium-what ever you have!)
DecoArt Americana Primary Blue
DecoArt Metallics Glorious Gold
Artist Loft Flow Acrylic White
FolkArt Gloss Rose Shimmer
FolkArt Matte Bark Brown
Norpro 100% Cotton Twine (Kitchen String)
Brushes – Galaxy Set The Art Sherpa by Silver Brush Ltd
Craft Store Wood Tag (you can do this on any surface that you can paint!)
Paint Recipes:
3 Parts Sargent Art Gloss Medium and Varnish and 1 Part Artist loft Flow White
All the other paint colors are mixed 1 part Paint and 4 parts Sargent Art Gloss Medium and Varnish. (Yes, you can use Liquitex Pouring Medium or Golden GAC-800 with the same ratios)
There’s no silicon oil or torching in my projects as I really worry about the possible side effects of heating the acrylic paints and the materials they are made from. I’m also concerned with the possible issues down the line with the paint not forming a good bond with the surface because of the oils preventing proper adhesion.
We all have to weigh the pros and cons of how we interact with our art supplies. Experimenting can be exciting and beautiful, but there can be consequences we don’t know about yet. As with any thing in life be informed by reputable sources and your own common sense. 🙂

Hi Stephanie! Happy holidays to you and your family. I know that you’ve been dedicating most of your time to poured acrylics. I love them, but unfortunately I don’t have the space that would be necessary to do it.
I’m the one who kept commenting on YouTube about the gems and asked about listing the colors and being a general pain in the patootie. I know you were doing a gemstone for each months birthday. But I also thought you were going to do one every once in a while. Please please, pretty please add a gem video once in a while.🙏🏻 Love your videos and your teaching so much.
I hope you and your family have a happy new year. With much appreciation.
Hi Susie! I was thinking that a doodle gem was needed but didn’t know if anyone would watch. 🙂 Ill get one up on the channel soon! Thank you for watching and your comments! Happy holidays.
