Drop those Toxic Friends! Find your Marigolds

It’s time for a heart to heart chat about who we really need to have around us. As creative people we need to gather those Marigolds, companions that help us grow in a kind and compassionate way. Dump the toxic “friends” the ones who always throw shade or poison the ground like Walnut trees stunting your creative growth.

This time we are focusing on Finding Our Creative Marigolds. I based my chat on information I learned from Jennifer Gonzalez and her Blog post for new Educators – Find Your Marigolds Make sure you check out her post (it is a few years old but it is still 100% valid today!

While I’m chatting I am also creating a fun abstract Marigold Painting.

Instructions:
1. I coat the panel with a background layer of white paint
2. then start pouring puddles of colors.
3. I tilt the panel to stretch the puddles out and
4. then draw through from the outside edge to the middle with a pallet knife.
5. Finally I draw on the green foliage.

So exciting to see it all come together! I hope you enjoy it and let me know in the comments below what you think of the chat and the painting.
