Pink Rose Painting from my own original photo! This took me about 9 hours total to do. I recorded it but I only did an intro and ending. It took way too long for a regular lesson a video. So, you get this fun relaxing peek into my studio.
When do I start painting?
2:13 Peeling Paint on Wood Background
8:26 Stem and Leaves
9:50 The Pink Rose
This was done as an exercise to help me learn how to color match. This was a challenge given by Robin Sealark Clark to her Patrons. It was one I decided was directed right at me.
The challenge was to pick colors out of a photo and then do the painting. I have never worked so hard on such a small painting! It has so much that I’m proud of. There is still some work to be done but I really wanted to get this video up and shared.
I hope you find it relaxing. Please leave me a comment and let me know if you have ever done this kind of a challenge in Acrylic paint or if you would ever try it. I know I will be doing more paintings like this in the future!
Let me know if you think Sunday Morning Relaxing Speed Paintings would be something you’d be interested in watching. I will record and then speed them up with some quiet music and post them for Sunday Mornings if there’s any interest!

The most important things you need to be successful with any of my creative projects are the willingness to learn and to be easy on yourself as you are learning. We tend to be our worst critics and we need to learn to be kind to ourselves.
